The following mss. turned up with some 1989 minutes & Elizabeth Weaver (nee Glasheen) supplied the following information:
I have been speaking with my brother Michael Glasheen and yes he did write the play.
Our
Glasheen family came out from Ireland in 1849 after the devastating
potato famine. My mother and father did extensive research and
recorded much of the family's movements. This included the fact that
my ancestors would have been present on the Goldfields at the time of
the Eurecka Stockade.
The Nolan name also appears on our family tree hence the inspiration for the plays title -Nolan Green.
Paul
and I were more active with the Bush Music Club during the 80's both
with dancing and then Paul holding many Committee positions and being
President.
Paul was also busy calling dances with different bands and doing individual jobs through the booking agency.
I was Minutes Secretary for quite a few years and so maybe this is how the club acquired a copy of the play.
Michael said he doesn't recall the play ever being performed but has given permission to the club if they would like to use it. (email 16/12/2004)
The mss. has been annotated by Bob Bolton.
