Eureka flag flown by member Bob Murray (photo © Bob Murray)
With songs led by Dave Johnson, Helen & Tony Romeo, and Ralph Pride, ably assisted by friends from the Bush Music Club.
The Eureka Commemoration Committee has for many years been running
events to celebrate the Eureka uprising and its impact on Australian
political history, particularly the path to democracy from the colonial
autocracy of the 1850s. This concert is in addition to its Eureka dinner
held in early December. It is a chance to celebrate our history in
song. Singing along will be encouraged.
Audience members were encouraged to bring instruments, & a local ukulele group contributed to the singalong.

The Bush Music Club was founded in 1954 to collect, publish and popularise Australia’s traditional songs, dances, music, yarns, recitations and folklore and to encourage the composition of a new kind of song - one that was traditional in style but contemporary in theme.
