Sydney Metropolitan Area

Royal Scottish Country Dance Society.
Sydney is Australia's largest and oldest city and visitors will find that both the Sydney Branch and the many Scottish country dance clubs host classes on most weeknights throughout the dancing year (February - December). The Sydney Branch coordinates a number of social events and dance workshops throughout the year, which you will find detailed in our Coming Events section

The Downside Bush Dance has been running continuously, on the first Saturday of each month since 1971, yet it maintains that 70s (and beyond) feel to it.

Bush Dance Workshops
All Saints Church Hall, 9 Cowper St, Ainslie
Bush Dance Workshops provide an opportunity for dancers to learn and practice bush dancing, while enjoying a lively evening of fun and varied dances. You don’t need any dance experience. It is also a chance for musicians to join in (no entry charge for musicians) and learn traditional bush dance music, and for callers to practice their calling.  Live music by the Bush Capital Band.   contact: Mark 0421 814 718

Second Saturday Bush Dance 
The program for these is based on easy and medium dances learned in workshops. Once again, dances are walked through with a caller, music by the Bush Capital Band.
MFS members $10   Non-members $12  Groups and Concession holders $11   Full-time students half price and under 18s free. Please also bring a plate of supper to share during the dance.
