The Bush Music Club was founded in 1954 to collect, publish and popularise Australia’s traditional songs, dances, music, yarns, recitations and folklore and to encourage the composition of a new kind of song - one that was traditional in style but contemporary in theme.

I was there, co-ordinating the effort to get folks to sit on doors to check tickets. Glen & Robyn from the Folk Fed had been beside themselves because they couldn't get people to volunteer for this. They rocked up to my place about 10 days beforehand & gave me a list of 17 people to call. Only 1 taker. This was the only performance I got to see. I slept on the floor of the room I was allocated. There was a whiteboard & folks turned up to volunteer. I also grabbed people going in to venues to give them a float & tix. The festival covered its costs. Glen & Robyn turned up at my place a little later with an enormous bunch of flowers for me.
